WORST SERVICE EVER. DO no use them. Gert never fixed my roof, and disappeared with my money...
Gert and his team know flat roofing, wood repair and painting
I purchased a house in 2021 that has a portion of flat roofing. It leaked a little in 2022. It leaked more in 2023 when I got a roofer to try to repair it and a slight leak in a valley of the other portion of my roof, That roofer successfully fixed the slight leak in the valley but failed in multiple attempts to fix the flat roof leak, The roofer said that he thought the problem was the slightly elevated door leading out to the sitting area near the flat roof. This didn't make sense to me so I then called two companies that specialise in flat roofing, Orbit and another one.
Gert of Orbit visited my house and accessed the situation. He was very confident that the flat roof was the problem not the slightly raised door by the sitting area. He noted that the previous contractor used the incorrect steel sheets for a flat roof and didn't seal the edges properly. In addition, the finishing of the job was poorly done. He said that he could still use the same steal sheets but would seal the edges properly and rubberise the roof. He was 99% confident that the raised door was not the problem.
The other flat roofing expert company also sent someone to access my roof and provide a quote. He also noticed that the correct steel sheets for flat roofing weren't used but was more concerned with the raised door. The company that sent him only provided me for a quotation for lowering the door to the upstairs patio and didn't bother providing me with a quotation for addressing a potential leak in the flat roof area. Their quote was 3.5 to 4 times Orbit's quote.
He fixed the roof at the end of January 2024. They didn't need to replace the steel sheets but simply sealed the edges properly and rubberised it. They also painted the edges of the concrete walls around the flat roof so they looked good. It looks great now. Most importantly, as of 5 July 2024, after numerous very heavy rains the roof hasn't leaded in the 3 places it had been leaking.
I was so happy with Gert and his team's work on my flat roof that I got them to provide a quote for painting my house and repairing some wood structures on my house. Again, they provided a competitive quote and I hired them. Gert and his team did another very good job painting my house and do the repairs.
When I noticed that the steel sheets on a portion of my garage roof had rusted out, I asked only Gert of Orbit for a quote. He provided a reasonable one and got the job done while finishing the painting job. Again, Gert's team did a great roofing job.
If you have a roofing problem, I suggest you call Orbit and count on Gert. I'm glad I did.
Finally, this is such a long review because I was very surprised to read the other three reviews about Orbit on this site - www.bizreview.co.za. Those review are inconsistent with my experience with Orbit and Gert.
